News: Tantrum Wins Telly Award for The Gathering Spot Documentary "From Idea to Impact"

In the world of media production, few accolades carry as much prestige as a Telly Award, and, this year, we’re proud to say we’re amongst the chosen few.

The Awards annually showcase the best work created within television and across video, for all screens, representing some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world. This year, over 12,000 entries were received globally, including 6 continents and all 50 states.  

In the category of “Branded Content for General Documentary: Long Form (Above 40 Minutes),” our co-executive produced documentary, "The Gathering Spot: From Idea to Impact," was recognized as a Bronze Award Winner!

The documentary tells the story of The Gathering Spot and its growth from a visionary idea into a vibrant community hub. Tantrum served as co-executive producer on the project working in partnership with The Gathering Spot and Andramada Films.

Being recognized for our work is always gratifying, but this particular award holds special significance. Our team has been fortunate enough to collaborate with The Gathering Spot (TGS) founders Ryan Wilson and TK Petersen over the years documenting the growth of the club.

“Telling the story of such an institution in our community is something we have never taken lightly. What started originally as a campaign for the opening of the club’s first DC location, grew into the first history book, of which there are now 3 volumes. When the team approached us about this project, I don’t think any of us imagined what it would become. But the final product is a testament to the trust the team had in us and their willingness to think bigger.

I will always cherish the private conversations that Ryan and I had regarding the early days of TGS. In full transparency, hearing all that they had to overcome gave me solace during my own entrepreneurial journey. When given the opportunity to document some of those experiences, it was a no brainer.
